Koneksi Smart dan HP-Modem Haier D1200P

Meski sudah beberapa waktu membaca ada promo dari Smart dengan bundling ponsel Haier dan free koneksi sampai 12 GB selama 6 bulan saya baru kesampaian beli hape ini kemarin sore di amplaz. Agak ngantri dikit sampai akhirnya dapat jatah antrian juga. Kalau di gerai resmi, harga HP nya adalah Rp.289 ribu perak. Namun sayang waktu beli saya tidak membawa flashdisk jadi tidak bisa langsung meng copy driver-nya. Jadi kalau Anda mau beli HP ini ada baiknya dipersiapkan flashdisk juga. Sebenarnya dalam paket pembelian ada CD driver, tapi katanya tidak kompatible, terutama untuk Vista.
Karena waktu beli tidak menyalin driver dari gerai nya Smart, saya akhirnya mendownload nya dari situs resmi Smart yaitu di smart-telecom.co.id. Driver yang saya download adalah yang untuk Vista. Saya mendownload driver yang memang ditujukan pada pengguna Vista. Setelah utak atik beberapa waktu, memang banyak pesan error yang terjadi saat instalasi driver, namun pesan error tersebut diabaikan saja dan terus dilanjutkan. Setelah modem terinstal, buatlah koneksi internet seperti biasanya dengan menggunakan dial-up.
Pengalaman saya setelah beberapa waktu mencoba browsing dengan modem ponsel ini, ternyata kecepatannya cukup standar meski cenderung lambat(jam 20 WIB saya cek dengan speedtest (lokasi di Minomartani) terbaca untuk download 134kbps, upload 52 Kb). Meski agak lambat, saya sendiri cukup puas karena meski sedang di rumah masih tetap bisa menjelajah internet…
